One year ago, Graham was just a tiny little zygote and we celebrated like this.
And I don't have a picture of this year's night's activities, but it consisted of eating Chinese food off the coffee table, jiggling a fussy Graham, Aaron coming down with a cold and me packing for a night away for work. Romantic? No. Our new reality that we're 100% OK with? Yes.
But we did eventually celebrate. The following Saturday Grandma Ange babysat while Aaron and I went to dinner and the Trollwood musical, Shrek.
It was an awesome performance on a comfortable night at a beautiful outdoor theater. And oh yeah, the company was pretty great too.
So we enjoyed our celebration and appreciated the time to ourselves. It's easy to get caught up in all things baby and forget that we haven't been to dinner by ourselves since he was born. Much less dinner AND a show. Whoa.
We were pretty excited to get home to this guy though (though he was fast asleep by that point).
Two years,
one baby and a whole lot of love. So much to be thankful for.
