Little Man Enjoying Spring

Here's the happenings for the first half of May.

On the weekend of May 3 - 5, Jeanette, Dave and June visited to meet little Graham.

Graham seems to know he should be a little leery of of Uncle Hoota...

Because of things like this.

Graham is reading uncle Hoota's t-shirt and it's all starting to make sense.

"Ooh, hi Aunt June." This was at our visit to the brewery before dinner at Mezzaluna.

Graham got in some time with Uncle Eric too.

Then on to some miscellaneous pictures and happenings.

I love shirtless Graham... and he seems to be finding his thumb and or index finger these days.

Here's Graham and Peyton Larson. Graham looks like he's confused by someone telling him to punch his friend.

Hanging out in the crib.
 Hanging out in the carseat.

Hanging out on the Boppy lounger.

Hanging out with Grandma.

And I love his expressions here that I couldn't choose just one.

Here's Graham and his friend Declan after a walk together. (and that's Declan's puppy brother, Niko).

Most of our walks take place with Graham in the stroller, but this time we ventured out with the MobyWrap. It was nice to get to stay close to little man while walking.

Graham visited Grandma at work.

Smiles with daddy.

And while mama likes the MobyWrap, dad prefers the Bjorn. This is how we get things done in the evening. I love those little arms and legs hanging out...

Good morning stretches.
Carseat smirks.

More hand discovery.

Enjoying the swing.

Grumpy face on my walk.

More swinging.

More to come on the second half of the month.

2 Months Old

Here are our 2 month pictures. They aren't completely representative of the milestones we're enjoying these days (smiling), as Graham gets a little camera shy/stunned sometimes. But regardless, this is what our little man looks like at the 2 month mark!

So Smiley

We have been having sooo much fun with Graham's smiles and expressions! So much that this is what happens when you leave me unsupervised with a happy baby and an iPhone.

First Mother's Day

Thanks to cute little Graham, I celebrated my first Mother's Day this year! And lucky me, I actually got to celebrate twice due to a scheduling oops with Aaron's new full-time role with the brewing company. Here's the conversation that caused that:

Aaron: Does May 11 - 17 work for me to go to Portland for a Fargo Brewing trip?
Brianne: Yep, looks good to me
Neither of us: Wait, May 12 is Mother's Day and we have a baby now so we should be together for that holiday.

Oops.

But it's all good because we celebrated early as a family of 4 (Millie counts) and then I celebrated with Graham's grandmas on Sunday.

So our "Make-up Mother's Day" took place the Tuesday before M Day and it was great. Aaron, Graham, Millie and I traveled to Maplewood State Park for some R&R. It was a beautiful spring day and we had the park to ourselves so that was really fun. Here's Graham and me at the top of an overlook. We will have to travel back this fall as I imagine that backdrop gets a lot more awesome that time of year.

Sorry for making you look into the sun, son.

The trek up to the overlook was the first time we put our stroller to the test. Passed with flying colors!

Such a beautiful day with my favorite boys and favorite puppy.

Then on actual Mother's Day, mom and I went to church together and then out to breakfast. That afternoon we headed over to the Hills for a barbeque.

Here's Graham, Grandma and me on actual Mother's Day.

And here is Grandma Sue, me, Graham and Grandma Ange. It was such a great day with our little man and (almost) all the people that love him so much! He is lucky to have such wonderful Graham-mas in his life!

Smiling and Walking

Ok, Graham's not really walking. But he is smiling and we are going on outdoor stroller walks since the weather is finally turning into Spring.

Graham is 7 weeks old and here are the smiles caught on camera to date. It is the coolest thing ever to see him respond to us with a smile! Especially when you're working so hard for it with jumping, snapping, tickling, speaking in high voices and making strange sounds. He is fascinated by his parents embarrassing themselves...

 Happy baby...

"Does this onesie make me look fat? Mom was too excited to put me in it but perhaps it will fit me a little better in a few months."

Must have been doing something reeallly weird for this reaction...

Then in the walking (and good weather) department, here's Graham's first taste of sunshine on Friday, April 26.

That night we went to the brewery for a family barbeque and got to dine outside. Graham didn't even seem to mind the trains passing by.

Here we are all bundled up for our walk later that evening. Aaron, Graham and I walked on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Then on Monday we got to walk with friends Erin and Declan. So nice to have friends on maternity leave at the same time as us!

Other happenings this week included a play date with Peyton and Jeanine

Here's Graham all tuckered out from a rough morning playing with Grandma and Grandpa while Aaron and I went to hear Bill Gates speak at Concordia.

Graham also took to the swing this week. He hasn't been the biggest fan to date, but he's now spent a couple 1 hour stints in it. And he seems legitimately entertained by it. Love this expression. Oooooh!

We still get in plenty of snuggles too. Here's my view on a typical morning. Lucky me!!

Love this next picture. Graham was fussy so I laid him down to swaddle him. His moods change so quickly because he passed out as soon as he hit the ground.

Male bonding...

Snuggles in our homemade blanket from Erin Westby.

Tummy time

Naked time

And with that Graham says, "Please! No more pictures! I know I'm handsome, but please."
